Queer Eye Season 7 release date announced

On Wednesday, Netflix announced the release date for Queer Eye Season 7, May 12, 2023. Queer Eye Season 7 will consist of seven, 45-minute episodes, all set in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

“From beignets to ben-yas! The Emmy® Award-winning Queer Eye is back for a seventh season,” a press release reads. “Grab your beads and let the good times roll as The Fab Five bring some sparkle and sass to New Orleans and transform the lives of residents who are in need of a fresh start.”

Queer Eye is Netflix’s reboot of 2000’s series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The old version, as the name implied, had a squad of queer men team up to give straight men makeovers and help them improve in various areas like hygiene and fashion. In the reboot, things are a bit more fluid, with the “Fab Five” helping out people from across all walks of life, regardless of gender or sexuality. The point is to help these folks build up their self-confidence and improve their daily lives.

Each of the Fab Five is responsible for their own area of expertise when it comes to helping out their clients. Antoni Porowski is in charge of Food & Wine, Bobby Berk handles Interior Design, Jonathan Van Ness does Grooming, Karamo Brown is in charge of Culture, and Tan France deals with Fashion. Together, they give their clients a new lease on life.

Fans can look forward to travelling through the Big Easy with the Fab Five when Queer Eye Season 7 returns to streaming on Netflix on May 12.
