Confetti’s Cozy Corner: Steam Next Fest queer game demos you should check out!
Steam Next Fest is a celebration of upcoming games where there is over four thousand demos available to play!
It’s a big weekend for indie game lovers and it ends on Monday March 2nd, so head to Steam Next Fest now to fill your wishlist!
Here are some of my favorites, many with awesome queer representation.
My Boyfriend’s a Werecat!
Zack Kuroneko, a college graduate in his twenties, was enjoying a blissful life with his long-term boyfriend, Spencer Waters. However, Zack’s bliss was soon disrupted by a strange feeling. Zack is a Werecat! Help Zack navigate this new existence and all the challenges and hilarious scenarios it presents. If you love queer stories, cute cats, and boys, you’ll love this game!
Thrifty Business
From the creators of Sticky Business comes a new title Thrifty Business! Arrange displays, find hidden gems, and befriend the regulars as you run your own Thrift Shop! There is so much queer representation in Thrifty Business from the items you sell, and even the customers. This will be another amazing title by SpellGarden Games!
Tiny Plushie Story
Join Kaitlyn in Tiny Plushie Story, a cozy, story-driven puzzle game where you can relax with gentle puzzle mechanics and customization. As you dive into a heartfelt narrative, you’ll sort magical plushies, uncover the history of the mysterious Cresswell legacy, and help Kaitlyn confront her past. You can go on dates and romance characters in this cute puzzle game. If sorting games relaxes you, you should check this game out!
Coffee Talk Tokyo
Brew drinks for your human and Yōkai customers as you listen to their stories in this beautiful world. If you are worried about playing this instalment of Coffee Talk but have not played the others, fear not. This is a standalone title where you will not need context from the other Coffee Talk titles. Coffee Talk is a great series with great representation, and I do recommend it.
Hozy
If you play The Sims and feel yourself leaning towards building magnificent homes, then you will LOVE Hozy. This game will be every builder’s dream. Restore an old neighborhood one room at a time. The mechanics are brilliant, and the small details are amazing! This is a game I am excited for the full release!
Fishbowl
Follow Alo as she processes the loss of her grandma and searches for hope in the things her grandma left behind. This journey will be emotional and hit all of the feels, but I trust it will be a healing journey, and players will leave with a great experience.
This Game is Not Real.
You are [GAME]. A universally hated, destructive mental health horror novel, where you [TALK] with a slightly delusional game developer, debug their creation, and guide the game to “completion.” The two male leads have a bit of a toxic relationship, and I STRONGLY encourage you to read the content warnings before jumping in!
Outbound
Build your personalized, sustainable home on wheels and explore a vibrant world! Live off-grid by harnessing energy from the sun, wind, or water. Customize and upgrade your vehicle, craft essential workstations, and even grow crops. This is a co-op adventure you can share with up to four players. The best part is that you can have a furry companion! This will be a fun game to play with friends.
