The ‘sex update’ for Cult of the Lamb is coming in early January
Devolver Digital and Massive Monster have been teasing a new update for Cult of the Lamb for a while, but this ‘sex update’ coming next week will do more than just wet your whistle.
Titled ‘Sins of the Flesh,’ this update is the culmination of a campaign that jokingly asked Massive Monster to ‘add sex’ into this base-building, action roguelike.
However, before you reach for your zipper, let us clarify by saying that this update isn’t quite on the horny levels of Baldur’s Gate 3 or Hades. Instead of watching your cult boink like a pervert, Cult of the Lamb instead focuses on a very tame egg-raising system.
You see, when two of your followers love one another very much, sometimes an egg happens. And whatever pops out of that egg? It’ll make it a lot easier to manipulate into joining your cult! We love happy families, don’t you?
But it isn’t just about sex in the Sins of Flesh update. Far from it.
Massive Monster has also added new progression systems to add more “depth and complexity” to the management of your followers in Cult of the Lamb. For example, a revamped levelling system of follower progression will help you yield the most sinful and gluttonous of fruits.
Players have also got new means to improve life of their cult members with bigger and better buildings, a baneful broom that’ll help with chores, and even shiny poop to add towards yielding better fruitful crops and XP. Because if you’re going to have to use poop in cult life, it might as well be shiny.
Your followers will even get the chance to flaunt their fashion with a new Tailor building. Once unlocked in-game, each cultist has the opportunity to wear their own outfit with 23 different styles to choose from.
The most important aspect of this Cult of the Lamb update however, even more vital than sex, is that your lamb will finally get a gun. The Blunderbuss weapon will blast heretics away with a mere press of your finger, making any who cross you a red splat on the ground and bringing a new combat playstyle for players to jump into.
The Sins of the Flesh update for Cult of the Lamb comes to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on January 16.
