Lady Dimitrescu will be shorter for Resident Evil DLC

It looks like Lady Dimitrescu will be wearing flats when she makes her reappearance in the upcoming Resident Evil DLC, the Winters Expansion.

Lady Dimitrescu’s height in-game is around 9’6, making her one of the more intimidating enemies to go up against in Resident Evil Village. She’s so tall that she actually has to duck to get through doors and into some hallways too. She’s a big gal, and that’s what we love about her.

Unfortunately, that won’t be the case our Lady Dimitrescu in the Resident Evil DLC. Thanks to an interview between Polygon and director of the upcoming Resident Evil expansion, Kento Kinoshita, we now know that the tall Goddess won’t actually be at her full height. but will instead be just a little under 9ft. That said, the change isn’t for a cowardly reason, we promise. The reality is that sacrifices needed to be made in order for her to work for the Mercenaries mode she’ll be a part of.

“Lady Dimitrescu’s height brought up a lot of challenges during development, but in the end we were able to implement her with a giant stature, taller than any of the other characters.” Kinoshita told Polygon. “For The Mercenaries, it’s necessary that the player can control their character easily, and to make that possible we did adjust her height to a little under nine feet tall. At that height, the player just barely avoids bumping into the ceiling.”

Even with her a little shorter than usual, Lady Dimitrescu’s height will still be tall enough for players to experience her unique playstyle. Not only will players be tearing enemies to ribbons, Lady Dimitrescu can also throw a vanity at them in a tongue-in-cheek reference to cutscene she has with Mother Miranda.

Fans of Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters are also going to be in for a pleasant surprise. Kinoshita explained that the three daughters, Bella, Cassandra, and Daniela were well-received by fans too, and so they too will be part of one of Lady Dimitrescu’s actions.

The newest updates will arrive on October 28th, either through a bundle with the original game called Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, or through a separate purchase of the Winters Expansion.
