We can finally play as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil

Last night’s Capcom Showcase revealed a hell of a lot of exciting games and content coming up, but none has quite got us in a chokehold like the news that Lady Dimitrescu (also known as ‘our Lady Di’ to the gays) will finally be playable in Resident Evil Village in upcoming DLC.

In Resident Evil Village’s Mercenary mode, to be exact. The Mercenaries is an arcade-action mini-game that has been present since Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, allowing players to take on the role of several characters as they go up against a variety of enemies.

Resident Evil Village’s The Mercenaries Additional Orders returns, bringing not just Lady Dimitrescu, but Karl Heisenberg, a Lord who wields a giant hammer and possesses the ability to control magnetic forces, as well as the ever-popular and prepared, Chris Redfield.

Each new character in The Mercenaries Additional Orders DLC has something that makes them unique. For our Lady Dimitrescu, it’s her height that makes her a powerful adversary, allowing her to tower over enemies and slash at them with ease. She also seemingly has the ability to find a chair to toss at enemies, no matter where she is. No, that is not a joke.

Lady Dimitrescu has proven to be a big hit, particularly among LGBTQ+ gamers – so it’s no surprise that Capcom wants to include her in more things surrounding the popular franchise.

While we would have loved to play a single-player story mission as Lady Dimitrescu, Resident Evil fans do have a lot more content on the way to soothe that particular wound. As well as The Mercenaries Additional Orders, there is an expansion that follows Rose 16 years after the events of Village, as well as a new third-person mode.

Resident Evil Village’s additional DLC is set to release on October 28. To find out more about additional modes and features, look here.
