BOSSGAME: The Final Boss is My Heart now available on mobile
On Thursday, Lilycore Games announced that its debut game, BOSSGAME: The Final Boss is My Heart, is now available on Android and iOS devices. It will be available on PC next year.
BOSSGAME: The Final Boss is My Heart follows a lesbian couple – anxious sword priestess Sophie and localized disaster/fire mage Anna – as they take up devil hunting to make rent in the infested Mammon City. Players control both characters in rhythmic battles against various devils and other enemies. In your down time, you can text your friends, rivals, and enemies, and of course, flirt with your girlfriend. Along the way, Anna and Sophie will confront their corrupt boss, discover the dark secrets of Mammon City, and test the power of love against the forces of evil.
“I made Bossgame as a challenge to myself,” said Lillycore Games founder Lily Valeen. “I’ve always loved RPGs, and I wanted to make a game with that kind of story and character writing, and then I shrank it by making only boss battles, which are often the coolest part of those games anyway!”
“I also wanted to see if I could make an action game that felt really good to play on phones, and so I came up with a unique battle system. Finally, I really wanted to explore what it’s like to be IN a relationship – so many stories end right when a couple kisses, but there’s so much more to love than that. I wanted to see girlfriends fighting together, being romantic together, and arguing with each other. I’m really happy that I was able to pull off all three of these goals.”
BOSSGAME: The Final Boss is My Heart is now available on iOS and Android for $6.99. Those who purchase the Android version via itch.io will also have access to the PC build when it launches next year.
