Lady Gaga may be coming to Fortnite
Fortnite’s crossover content has become legendary at this point. With recent additions like Dragon Ball Z’s Goku, and DC’s Dreamer, fans have had plenty of silly content to enjoy in the battle royale. But the game may be getting even more star-studded, as well-known Fortnite leaker FNLeaksAndInfo revealed on Tuesday that a new collaborative emote called “Jug Band” seems to play Lady Gaga’s hit song “Poker Face” when four players do it together.
In a tweet on Wednesday, FNLeaksAndInfo posted a clip of the audio with the caption, “Okay, it is Lady Gaga…[eyes emoji].” Upon listening to the audio, it really does sound like Gaga’s iconic song. This wouldn’t be all that surprising, given Fortnite’s history of collaborating with musical artists. The game realized the dream of the “metaverse” more efficiently than Facebook has ever managed to by holding in-game concerts with artists like Marshmello and Travis Scott. Concerts haven’t been the only collaborations with musicians, however. Major Lazer became the second real person to have a skin in Fortnite, which also included the first-ever third-party lobby music for the game.
Lady Gaga being included in Fortnite would be especially funny, considering she had a now infamous tweet asking what the game even is.
“What’s fortnight?” the superstar asked on Twitter back in 2019. Streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins responded in a fairly cringe-worthy way.
“Call me on the Telephone. I’ll give you a Million Reasons to play. You and I,” he replied with a Lady Gaga gif.
Now it seems like she may have a more permanent place in the game than anyone might have expected. That said, Gaga’s inclusion in the battle royale still hasn’t been officially confirmed by Epic, so fans should temper their expectations for the time being. It may still be a while before we can jam to “Poker Face” with our buds in Fortnite.
