Keywords Studios showed off their Pride this June
Keyword Studios, a sponsor of our very own Gayming Awards, has released a recap of all of the Pride-related things they’ve done this month.
As you know, the first of June signals the start of Pride – a month where the LGBTQ+ community celebrates our history with one another, while also making it clear there is more work that needs to be done. This celebration has been shared throughout the world, and has even made its way into the video game industry, where organizations and companies even joined in on Pride Marches to support LGBTQ+ members.
One such company, Keyword Studios also made it their mission to celebrate. In their blog post covering Pride Month, the studio wrote about how queer visibility takes on many different forms.
“Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, and celebrating and supporting our differences is what makes Keywords Studios what it is today.” Keywords Studios shared on their blog. “To mark Pride season this year, we have compiled a series of updates and milestones from across our studios.”
The studio established a Global Diversity and Inclusion Council with members from all over the world, as well as partnered with Women in Games. Keywords Studios also welcomed a dedicated DEI manager for Europe and an Engagement manager for the Americas, at the same time as making sure to identify good practices within the studio.
Like other organizations, Keywords Studios made sure to show off their Pride by taking part in marches throughout the month of June – such as in Montreal, Seattle and Mexico City. Earlier this year, Keywords Studios also marched, for the first time, in Tokyo Pride.
Keywords Studios was also part of our Gayming Awards, which took place earlier this year. With the help of their sponsorship, we were able to showcase and celebrate an incredible amount of games such as Unpacking, When The Night Comes and Life is Strange: True Colors, as well as the people who develop them.
