Jamie Lee Curtis to officiate daughter’s wedding in a World of Warcraft costume

Jamie Lee Curtis, a renowned actress known for her time as Laurie Strode in Halloween and her camp performance in Freaky Friday, is taking her iconic status to the next level. How? Because Jamie Lee Curtis will be officiating her daughter’s wedding while donning cosplay of Jaina Proudmoore, a character from World of Warcraft.

On Tuesday’s (March 22nd) Jimmy Kimmel Live! Curtis made an appearance to discuss her upcoming movies, as well as her daughter and their future wedding.

Last year Jamie Lee Curtis did an interview with People to talk more about her beloved trans daughter, Ruby. In the interview, Ruby expressed being intimidated by the thought of coming out to her mother and father (comedy director and actor, Christopher Guest), but ultimately she “wasn’t worried” due to Curtis having always accepted her throughout her life.

In this most recent interview with between Jamie Lee Curtis and Kimmel, it was revealed that the actress would be dressing up in a World of Warcraft cosplay to officiate her daughter’s wedding. Though she admits that she doesn’t know exactly what it is, only that it’s from a game and that her daughter had picked it out for her. “I went on Etsy and wrote ‘Jaina Proudmoore costume’ and up came a woman, had the costume.”

However, the costume is currently facing delays due to it being produced in Russia and with the ongoing war with Ukraine there has been a “supply chain issue.” Even so, Curtis was promised that her costume would be ready in time for her to officiate Ruby’s wedding.

Pictured above in a shirt with a fist in the colours of the trans flag, Curtis last week tweeted a touching message to celebrate the birth of her daughter. In the message, Curtis made reference to the “conservative” legislation that has been sweeping across America, such as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida, as well as the anti-trans legislation in Texas.

“Happy birthday Ruby. I am proud 2 be your mother & am sending support 2 all trans families across the US targeted by conservative legislatures […] I VOW 2 use my freedom of speech 2 SUPPORT my child & ALL trans children trying 2 live FREELY as who they are.” Curtis finished the tweet with the hashtag ‘Protect Trans Kids.’
