Coffee Talk creator Mohammed Fahmi passes away

Mohammed Fahmi, the creator behind the coffee-management game Coffee Talk, has passed away at the age of 32.

Fahmi was a pillar of the Southeast Asian and indie dev community, inspiring people from all over the world with his work, including the upcoming game Afterlove EP, generosity, and kindness. His loss has left many of his friends, families, and fans shocked.

The news of Fahmi’s passing was shared on the developer’s official Twitter account, as well as via the Coffee Talk and Toge Productions Twitter pages.

“Today we’ve received the most devastating of news. Our beloved Fahmi, the writer of Coffee Talk and a beloved friend of Toge Productions has passed away. We are absolutely devastated by his early departure.” Toge Productions wrote. “Thank you for everything you had done for Toge Production, for the indie game industry, for your friends and family… We will never forget you and you will always be in our hearts.”

Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, Fahmi was an integral part of the indie games industry for 10 years, working in more than a handful of roles: a programmer, game designer, journalist, writer, and game director. He eventually created his own indie studio, Pikselnesia.

Various members of the video games industry, as well as fans of Fahmi and his games, have paid their respect across social media. He will be dearly missed.
