LGBTQ+ platformer Kitsune Tails has an all-star cast

Kitsune Tails, a platformer from MidBoss and Kitsune Games with an LGBTQ+ storyline and relationships, has revealed its all-star voice cast.

The protagonist of the game, a purple-haired fox lady called Yuzu, is voiced by Kira Buckland, the voice of the mysterious NIER: Automata protagonist 2B, as well as Street Fighter V’s Falke. Buckland has also appeared in a wide swath of anime series, such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean’s Jolynne Cujoh.

Buckland’s role as Yuzu is pretty high energy, and quite fitting for a character who lives and loves the world of humans and takes her job as a divine messenger for the kitsune goddess Inari, pretty seriously.

Yuzu is joined by her best friend Kiri, who is voiced by Angela Tran (Lori in Lake, and various roles in Genshin Impact). Kiri has been acting real strange around her since Yuzu started hanging out with the pretty human healer of the village, Akko, voiced by Katlyn Dannes (The Homework’s Revenge: Esther in Wonderland and Square Roots).

Additional characters include The Cat Merchant, voiced by Brent Mukai (Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Pokemon Masters), Kamino; Kiri’s uncle as voiced by Mylo Reid and the Village Elder, voiced by Kellyn Stephens, a stage performer and tenor singer making his very first video game debut. Last but not least is the Ghost Samurai, who is voiced by actor and voiceover artist Shogo Miyakita.

“Auditioning so many talented voice actors to help bring the world of Kitsune Tails to life was rewarding and a challenge to determine who was the right fit,” said Emma ‘Eniko’ Maassen, Kitsune Games founder. “The fact we got the talent behind 2B to voice Yuzu is still surreal to me, and we hope our fans enjoy this taste of what’s to come!”

In the meantime, enjoy the voice reveal trailer of all the characters you’ll be meeting when the game releases in 2022.

The LGBTQ+ platformer Kitsune Tails will be available to play on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4 as well as Windows PC and Linux via Steam and itch.io.
