Grab the Nintendo Switch OLED for only £309 in the UK

The Nintendo Switch OLED model caught us all by surprise yesterday, but the biggest shock is that you can get this new model for yourself for only £309 if you live in the UK. Considering that it’s £30 more expensive than purchasing a regular Switch though for so little change… Well, at least it’s less expensive than the US!

Not-so-big-miracles aside, the Nintendo Switch OLED is the newest member of the Nintendo family and while its reveal was much more disappointing than what people were expecting with the Nintendo Switch Pro (which isn’t a thing, stop trying to make it a thing), it has got fans hyped to play some of their favourite games on a bigger Switch.

“The new Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire – whether it’s Nintendo Switch (OLED model), Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite.”

You can pre-order the Nintendo Switch OLED in the UK right now, with both GAME and Smyths offering both the solid white OLED version, as well as the more well-known blue and red variant. GAME, however, is also offering bundles with the Nintendo Switch OLED that boosts the price up to £349.99. You want a new game to make OLED look even shinier and you don’t mind paying a little more? Then this will be the bundle for you.

Interestingly enough, the Nintendo Switch OLED doesn’t seem to be getting a bundle with the new Metroid game in spite of it coming out on the same day. This may change of course, but you would think that with Nintendo advertising the new model as the best way to play through Samus’ new adventure, an option to bundle it would be on the horizon, too.
