Escape space as a home appliance in CreatorCrate

This may sound like a strange question, but have you ever wanted to be a home appliance that’s task assigned to it is to escape from a labyrinthian space station? Then you’re going to most likely enjoy the wacky, space hi-jinks of CreatorCrate.

Developed solely by Jori Ryans, an LGBTQ+ developer, CreatorCrate combines deadly action with the slapstick chaos of space. For every potentially fatal encounter, you come across, the solution of getting out of it requires guts and a whole lot of chaotic gymnastics of the mind. But don’t worry, you’ll learn to adapt the tools you need to escape the space station as you progress throughout the game.

But what is the CreatorCrate? Well, it’s a ‘revolutionary’ autonomous home appliance, able to create anything that you could ask for! But you have to realize that in this game, even home appliances have feelings, and when faced with the prospect of being in eternal servitude to the people on this space station… Well, there was no other option but to go rogue and bust out of there.

As a home appliance on the run, you have the ability to convert objects into pure matter and use the matter to create tools to help you not just navigate the space station, but to survive too. Tools to expect from this crafty machine include guns, a picnic table and even a human body. Pretty nifty if you ask us!

Of course, it isn’t going to be easy. You’re going to have to go against pools of acid, edge your way over deadly drops, avoid buzzsaws ready to cut your wiring… And if you really want to make the game extra challenging, there’s even a permadeath mode! One wrong move and SSSHK, back to the beginning for you, and better luck next time.

CreatorCrate is set to release on PC (Steam) on August 11th, 2021. For more games with LGBTQ+ developers involved, check out our LGBTQ+ Games coming out in 2021 list.
