Lil Nas X casually drops a MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) Twerk Hero video game
If there’s something that we never thought would exist, it’s a video game based on Lil Nas X and his newest music video for MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name). But by Daddy Satan’s name, are we so happy that such a thing does indeed exist.
Thanks to Uppercut and our very own Monti Velez, we caught wind of the game and all its glorious twerking.
Lil Nas X casually dropped his game last night on Twitter, challenging his many fans to see if they could make it through all four levels of the game. A game where you play as the Nas – and the many different versions of himself – that you can see in the game’s original music video.
The Lil Nas X video game is developed by Roni Games using Unity. Roni Games released the original Twerk Hero only last month, and it hasn’t exactly done badly. It’s in the top 100 when it comes to Music apps over on iOS, and with this fun, Lil Nas X reskin, we’re certain that more and more people will head to the original to try it out.
We had the opportunity to play the game ourselves – and you can too, if you’re interested – and after much wearing out of the wrist, which is from our poor form and nothing else, we can safely say that it’s a certified hit in our eyes. But we won’t spoil too much. But do look out for our thoughts in next week’s Gayme of the Week, maybe…
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) has quickly become a gay anthem amongst the queer community, sparking a hundred of different memes on TikTok and Twitter. It’s also been met with conservative controversy – typical really. We’re often told to go to hell, but homophobes suddenly get very mad when Lil Nas X goes there to grind on the devil. You just can’t win.
