Dead by Daylight first graphic overhaul arrives on September 8th

Dead by Daylight has consistently been getting bigger and better, so it’s no surprise that the game will be receiving a graphic overhaul – with the first update arriving on September 8th.

A graphic update has been teased on the Dead by Daylight forums and website for some time now, and PC players got their first look at some of the new improvements at the release of the PTB two weeks back. New generator animations, redesigned flashlights, chests, med-kits, as well as improvements of two maps were just a few of the new things that were shown.

In a post on their blog, Product Manager Joris Four and Lead Level Artist Stephanie Hellin answered questions on what players could expect from the new graphic updates that are being implemented in the game.

“Between now and Fall 2021, we will be introducing a series of free updates to our visuals, graphics, lighting, animations, and more for players on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia while also building up to a Dead by Daylight experience for the next generation of consoles.” Joris Four said. “Dead by Daylight characters will have more realistic modeling and texturing, related to and informed by each character’s lore. Also, we’ll be making improvements to the lighting and VFX for a more engrossing experience. Blood in the moonlight looks a certain way—these details matter!”

More importantly, they clarified that September 8th will be the beginning of a “new era” of Dead by Daylight. We can’t wait to see it – can you?
