Join the Phantom Thieves and change the world in Persona 5 Royal
Persona 5 has been called the King of RPGs, and for good reason if Kenneth’s review is any indication. But if that’s the case then what can Persona 5 Royal offer that’s fun and exciting for new and returning players? As it turns out, quite a lot.
With a number of different editions, such as the Phantom Thieves, Launch and special digital editions, there is at least something out there that will appeal to fans of this massive JRPG. As the official PlayStation Blog explains, “digital pre-orders will come with an original Persona 5 Royal theme as a bonus and all the original Persona 5 DLC will be free for all Persona 5 Royal players.” The physical release will come with its own sleuth of goodies, such as a physical Joker mask, artbook, soundtrack, and so much more.
But what does this new game add to the original? A new character, Kasumi, made us wonder if she would be a new protagonist. That isn’t the case, and like the rest of your team in the previous Persona 5 game, she’ll join your party as a teammate rather than take the lead. A shame, as I know a few of us would have liked to play the game as a female character.
