Anime inspired farming sim SunnySide comes to console
SunnySide, an anime inspired farming sim from publisher Merge Games and developer RainyGames, has confirmed that it’s heading to console.
Alongside PC, SunnySide will be setting down roots on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
For gamers who would prefer a physical copy of the anime farming sim, you’re in luck! Physical copies of SunnySide will also be available on the PS5.
In SunnySide, the player has just purchased their first plot of land in an aging post town, right in the heart of the Japanese countryside. Instead of carrying a beaten up watering can and walking everywhere, SunnySide portrays itself as a much more modern farming sim, with the use of modern technology and tools to help stabilize your career as a farmer, while also allowing you the chance to pursue other hobbies and opportunities in the city. And who knows, maybe you’ll even be able to find the time for some romance?
Alongside innovating farming and a small, diverse Japanese town full to the brim with compelling characters, SunnySide teases a mysterious story about the post town’s past.
Alongside confirmation of what platforms SunnySide will be heading to, RainyGames also debuted their title track from the game’s OST for the very first time.
Written and performed by Matthew Payne Thompson, aka JellyFox, the ‘Watch This Garden Grow’ animated music video features live performance clips of the band, as well as characters featured from the game.
The music video has been designed to emphasise RainyGames monumental role of music to build the overall SunnySide experience, as well as capture the “uplifting essence of rural life”.
The full soundtrack is currently unavailable, but for anyone eager to discover more of SunnySide’s OST, you can listen to the main title theme over on JellyFox’s official YouTube account.
