Summerfall Studios announces Myth and Music: An Evening with Stray Gods Part 2

Summerfall Studios made history this year by releasing the first RPG musical with Stray Gods: The Role-Playing Musical.

Not only did it come with a fire soundtrack, but it also had brilliant talent with Laura Bailey as protagonist Grace (Critical Role, Uncharted, and The Legend of Vox Machina), Troy Baker as Apollo (The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Uncharted), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Star Wars: Rebels, Mortal Kombat 1, League of Legends) as Persephone, and Janina Gavankar (Alan Wake 2, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, The L Word) as Freddie.

Now Humble Games and Summerfall Studios want to bring the music straight to your living room with Myth and Music: An Evening with Stray Gods Part 2. Described as a “special holiday gift” for the Stray Gods community, this is the second part of the live performance shown earlier this year.

Fans can tune into the live-streamed musical event on December 13 at 6pm PST (9pm EST) / December 14 at 1pm AEDT on YouTube here for 30 minutes of never-before-seen content and performances from Laura Bailey, Troy Baker and Anjali Bhimani. There will also be an interview with David Gaider and Austin Wintory.

Since Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical launched on August 10, it has earned nominations at the Grammy Awards and Tribeca Festival and won a host of awards at the Australian Game Developer Awards.

In more recent news, Summerfall Studios has hinted that their next game probably won’t be a musical.

“Everyone keeps asking, are you going to do another musical? And I’m like, you can’t ask me that right now cause right now, I never want to see another musical ever again. Maybe ask me again in a year or two.” Gaider told GamesIndustry.Biz. “It’s not what we want Summerfall to be, ‘the studio that does musicals’. What we want to be is a studio that is always going to try to push the envelope in whatever kind of game that we’re making.”
