In Stars and Time loops onto console and PC this November

On Wednesday, Adrienne Bazir (insertdisc5) and publisher Armor Games announced their turn-based, time-loop RPG In Stars and Time will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5 and PC on November 20.

In Stars and Time is an Undertale-esque, LGBTQ+ inclusive RPG about a party of intrepid adventurers on a quest to take down a king who is starting to freeze the land’s time in place. Unfortunately, the party are completely wiped during the climactic battle. This ends up being a boon though, as it allows party-leader Siffrin to discover that they’re all actually trapped in a time loop that repeats the same two days over and over again.

Looping becomes a blessing and a curse; it gives the party more time to defeat the king, but it takes a mental toll on Siffrin the longer it persists, since they’re the only one who notices it. They have to rely on their found family members for comfort and respite during the loop, but he really doesn’t want to. To fix time, the crew will have to learn from their past mistakes and take advantage of their extra time as best they can. Siffrin, in particular, has to learn to share the weight of his burdens before they break him.

This is a story of friendship at its heart, with even the game mechanics centering those relationships. You can equip memories of your friends to power-up your party during combat, which is straight up Rock, Paper, Scissors. That said, this game won’t be shying away from the negative aspects of friendships either, working to make these characters feel complex and real.

Players that are excited by this pitch will be able to check In Stars and Time on PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 20.
