A Long Journey to an Uncertain End releases in June
On Tuesday, the team at Crispy Creative (which includes veterans from Obsidian and Telltale) announced that their upcoming narrative space opera game, A Long Journey to an Uncertain End, will release for PC on June 28. A Nintendo Switch version of the game will release sometime later this year.
A Long Journey to an Uncertain End gives this kind of story an interesting twist, putting players in the role of a sentient spaceship, rather than the pilot or captain of a normal one. In this world, sentient spaceships have been outlawed for centuries, but so far you have managed to maintain your freedom with the help of your crew and your AI friend C.O.R.G.I. Evading capture requires resources though, so part of the game is a management sim where you work with locals on various resources to complete jobs and earn the resources you need, and potentially future opportunities on other planets. Building relationships with these folks may also lead to being able to call in helpful favors down the road.
While trying to avoid the law, you and your crew are also trying to stay at least one step ahead of your abusive ex. As you play, complete jobs, and progress, an in-game clock will tick down, signaling how much time you have before they catch up with you.
The game was successfully funded via Kickstarter back in 2021, and a new trailer just dropped to celebrate the release date announcement. Fans on PC can look forward to grabbing the game on June 28. Those on Nintendo Switch will have to wait until sometime later this year.
