Guerilla confirms sequel to Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West have seemingly been set up for a sequel that will once more follow Aloy on yet another adventure.
Today Guerilla Games issued a message on their official website to celebrate Studio Director and Executive Producer Angie Smets starting a new role as Head of Development Strategy at PlayStation Studios. Alongside the well-wishes and celebratory messages, eagle-eyed fans saw that the post also mentioned details of the future of the Horizon franchise.
“We have full confidence in our new leadership as they steer Guerrilla towards a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project.” The message read, herby confirming something that gaming communities already had an inkling of: Horizon Forbidden West will get a sequel and continue the story of Aloy.
Only last week has Aloy’s story received an additional chapter with its brand new DLC, Burning Shores, to critical acclaim.
It’s also done well in more LGBTQ+ circles too, thanks to the option Guerilla Games’ gave to players to let Aloy kiss girls. Could have made it a done thing instead of a dialogue choice, but eh, what do we know. Maybe Aloy’s interest in a certain character will be more obvious in the sequel… We can certainly hope.
