All the LGBTQ+ games revealed at the 2022 Game Awards
As with every year, the 2022 Game Awards showed off dozens off games. There were several world premieres ranging across enough genres that gamers of any taste should have something to look forward to after the show. For our fellow gaymers out there, here are all of the games with LGBTQ+ themes or characters.
All the LGBTQ+ games revealed at the 2022 Game Awards
Hades II
One of the early world premieres in this year’s showcase was Hades II, which is the first-ever direct sequel Supergiant Games has ever made. This one appears to follow a female player character rather than our bisexual bae Zagreus, but the roguelite, dungeon crawling gameplay looks pretty similar to the first game. Based on the reveal trailer, it seems like the player character is the daughter of Kronos, the titan of time. Where Zagreus’ mission was to escape from the underworld, hers appears to be to free her father from his imprisonment. Hades II will be developed in early access, just like its predecessor.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
We’re not sure how much relationship stuff will be in this game yet, but Harley Quinn is a prominent cast member, and we all know she’s a bisexual crime queen. Even Margot Robbie is on board with the jester getting together with everyone’s favorite eco terrorist, Poison Ivy. We’ve also heard rumors that other LGBTQ+ characters will be included in the game, but that’s still unconfirmed. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will release on May 26, 2023.
The Last of Us Part I (PC)
The Last of Us Part I is finally coming to PC on March 3 of next year. It’s common knowledge that one of the main characters, Ellie, is a lesbian, and the game also features another gay character in fellow survivor Bill. If this release includes DLC content, PC players will also get to experience the Left Behind storyline, which gets further into Ellie’s sexuality and relationships.
Baldur’s Gate 3
Like many story-driven RPGs, Baldur’s Gate 3 includes romance options, and some of them are queer. The game has been out in early access for a while now, but is slowly approaching its 1.0 state and will launch in August 2023.
