Party-action game Super UFO Fighter launches in July

Super UFO Fighter, the new head-to-head party action game from developer VV-LABO and publisher Phoenixx will launch on both Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on July 22. Both versions support cross-play for all arenas and modes.

In the pixelated, color saturated world of Super UFO Fighter, the space sport of “Swoop UFO” has taken the galaxy by storm. UFO pilots – called “Swoopers” – compete in one-on-one battles to claim that match’s crown. Players have to navigate different stages filled with obstacles to deposit the target item into their goal using their UFO to score, making sure to keep their opponent from getting to it first. Using the UFO’s tractor beam (aka the “shwoop” beam), you can grab the item you need for your own goal, or to intercept or attack your opponents. The shwoop beam can also be used to crack open capsules that can raise the enemy’s goal or lower yours. “Anything goes when trying to get the prize!”

Whoever manages to score the most points by the time the match ends is the victor. Players will compete to become the best of the best, taking the title of Galactic Shwoop Master. There are six arenas to compete in that each have their own unique designs and stage-specific elements.

Players can take on other Swoopers solo in Super UFO Fighter’s story mode, where they’ll take on the role of a human girl named Lulu who’s trying to get back home and win the Galactic Shwoop Master title along the way. Or, you can face off with friends in both local and online co-op play to see who among you is the best Swooper. Online play also features multiple modes to check out. Those looking to practice and polish up their swooping skills can check out the training mode, where different UFOs are available for testing.
