The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf – featuring hot Vesemir – is out now

Well, it’s not every day that I’d say ‘hey, Vesemir from The Witcher series is kinda hot’ but I’ve been very much corrected after seeing the trailer for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf has fans reunite with a familiar face: dear, ol’ Vesemir who isn’t all that old in this animated film. Considered a prequel to The Witcher – and yes, meaning that this really is a Netflix original – this film focuses on Vesemir’s origin story and yes, that does involve making him hot and sticking him in a bathtub. Because hey, don’t fix what ain’t broke.

While some would argue this is an easy and, let’s be honest, safe choice, I can’t deny that I’m intrigued by it all the same. There’s something intriguing about taking Vesemir, a character that really does only seem to take on either a mentor role for everyone around him, or a bit of a comedy character to pick on, and make him the lead. The only downside is that it feels a bit weird to focus on him being hot and a stud at an early age. Where is my middle-aged-but-equally-hot Vesemir? Doesn’t he deserve justice too?

Regardless, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf comes with a star-studded cast, with Theo James (Divergent, Zoe, Underworld: Blood Wars) playing Vesemir and David Errigo Jr (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Ridley Jones) playing Young Vesemir. They’re joined by talent like Lara Pulver as Tetra, Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst, Tom Canton as Filavandrel and Graham McTavish as Deglan.

There’s a lot of talent and an hour and a half of thrilling, Witcher action featuring hot people – what better time to watch the Vesemir origin story? It’s what he deserves.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is available to watch worldwide on Netflix.
