Schrodinger’s Catgirl is a point-and-click game inspired by Ace Attorney and Until Dawn
What happens if you combine the eerie atmosphere of Until Dawn with the detective work and heartfelt adventure of Ace Attorney? Why, you’d get Schrodinger’s Catgirl! An adventure point-and-click visual novel, with inspiration also from one of the most beloved horror series of all time: Resident Evil.
Adventure and mystery mixed with a little bit of horror has always been appealing to queer audiences. We find ourselves loving the adrenaline, the outcasts that make up our characters, and the thrilling narrative that keeps us on our toes. Schrodinger’s Catgirl seems to promise just that and, let’s be honest, they had us enraptured by the word ‘Catgirl’ long before we started researching more about it. Maybe the Catgirl was the friends we made along the way, and all that…
In this game, players follow the protagonists Lemi and Leon, investigators interested in uncovering the truth behind Hayes Manor and what happened there not just in the present, but in the past too. To build a case, you’ll need to document evidence with your trusty camera.
Speaking of your camera, Lemi soon uncovers that they’ve got a unique ability of their own: being able to go to the present and the past through their camera. The only problem is that the more they investigate, the more reality itself collapses – giving players infinite possibilities of what actually happened at Hayes Manor. Of course, each possibility comes with a new trail of evidence for you to analyze, so get your detective glasses on and go wild!
What’s pretty exciting about this game, in particular, is that what evidence you find will directly influence the ending and actions of the game. Will you humanize the villain, or will the dark beast that lurks in the background become more and more solid as you investigate? Only time will tell.
If you like the sound of Schrodinger’s Catgirl, you can help the game and its developers by supporting the project on Kickstarter!
