Animal Crossing Fall Update adds Dreams, Fireworks and Island Backup and Restoration
The Summer update for Animal Crossing was brilliant, but the Animal Crossing Fall update already looks to be 100x better and we can’t wait to jump in when the new patch and activities officially release on July 30th.
In a new trailer revealed on Twitter, we see that one of the very first things we should expect from this second wave of content is the inclusion of dreams. Nintendo explains that with the use of dreams, players can doze off in their house and enter a dream-like state, where new character, Luna, will come and whisk them away to explore different islands.
“Luna offers visits to other islands as a dream, and with her help, you can share your island as a dream with others too. She will grant those who share their island a ‘Dream Address’ which players can exchange and use to visit each other’s island in a dream.” Nintendo explains. “In dreams, nothing is permanent because nothing you do is saved, so explore to your heart’s content.”
But it isn’t just dreams that you have to look forward to. Throughout each Sunday in August, players will have the option to go outside after 7pm and enjoy a fireworks show. What’s more, you’ll be able to redeem bells for raffle tickets, and get new items to celebrate with. And if you’re looking to get creative, you’re also able to design new fireworks too! Just make sure it’s PG, folks…
That’s all well and good, but Nintendo has even more exciting news coming with the Animal Crossing Fall update. As it turns out, players will finally be able to back-up and restore their island. This was a hotly requested feature when the game first came out, and is super important in getting your island back in the unfortunate circumstances your Switch gets lost or broken.
