Last week it was announced that two new Sailor Moon movies were heading to theaters in 2020, but if you can’t wait that long for more Moon Tiara Action, then check out this upcoming board game.
Created by Japanime Games, Sailor Moon Crystal: Truth or Bluff is a game of deception and misdirection. Are you being honest or lying? Keep the other players guessing as you pass tiles around the table and attempt not to get caught in your real intentions. As you duck and dodge your fellow players, watch out for members of The Dark Kingdom, as they can seriously mess up your plans.
When one player triggers the end of the game by running out of character tiles, the player with the most number of success tokens is the winner!
Sailor Moon Crystal: Truth or Bluff can be enjoyed by up to eight players at a time, with a typical game lasting between twenty and forty minutes. Recommended for ages ten and up.

As it pertains to the LGBT community, Sailor Moon has always been a champion of our community. During the anime’s third season, S: Deathbusters in 1994 and 1995, two major characters were introduced that changed the game forever. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune arrived on the scene and not only did they become two of the strongest and most beloved fighters in the Sailor Moon Universe, but they also became the first queer couple. Oh, yes. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune are a lesbian couple, despite the American adaption trying to write them off as “cousins.”
