Queer Gamedevs Unite: TOWNSQUEER Vol. 1 bundle and zine launches this Pride Month
Queer game development community gamedev.lgbt is launching its first ever games bundle and zine this Pride Month — TOWNSQUEER Vol. 1 — available on itch.io from 29 May to 15 June.
Gamedev.lgbt is a Mastodon instance — a server on a decentralised social media platform — created by Bram Dingelstad to provide a safe space for gamedevs from marginalised groups. Queer people, hobbyists, and professionals are all welcome, as long as they’re friendly and respectful of others.
Running from 29 May to 15 June, the bundle is priced at $20 USD and features 39 items from 28 creators across the gamedev.lgbt community: 28 games, 5 zines, 4 PDF games, and 2 music albums, spanning puzzles, visual novels, and narrative experiences.
Standout titles include Mycelium Heaven, Squeakross: Home Squeak Home, and Falling Stars… and other celestial objects.

A preview of the TOWNSQUEER zine — which spotlights the games and creators within the bundle, alongside words from the founder of the gamedev.lgbt instance, the zine’s organisers, and exclusive content from community creatives — is already available on itch.io.
In addition to showcasing and remunerating the various creators amongst the gamedev.lgbt community, proceeds from the bundle will also go toward covering server costs for the gamedev.lgbt Mastodon instance.
TOWNSQUEER Vol. 1 channels the true spirit of indie game development beautifully, turning Pride Month into something tangible: a collection of art made by queer people, for everyone.
The bundle goes live on 29 May. Follow the TOWNSQUEER itch.io page to get notified when it drops.
