Confetti’s Cozy Corner: February’s indie game releases
There are many fun indie game releases happening in February. From time management sims where you avoid the Yakuza, to sapphic layered storytelling and so much in between, I have some bangers for you to check out this month!

Street Takoyaki
February 2nd – Steam

In this immersive time management sim you run your own takoyaki stand in the streets of Japan. As your success grows you will face increasing pressures from the police and yakuza adding an intense survival game mechanic. Street Takoyaki can be played passively so you can grow your business as you multitask.

Goblin Sushi

It’s time to make Sushi and make it fast, because rent is DUE… TODAY! Goblin Sushi is a dungeon crawler cooking sim where you take everyday ingredients and make sushi! Persist against inflation, and do your best to conquer your biggest enemy… your landlord. As you cater to customers’ requests, grow your restaurant and learn more sushi recipes, you will get to live out your ultimate sushi restaurant owner dreams. But just remember to pay your rent on time!

Scarlet Hollow (episode 5)

If you have not played Scarlet Hollow yet, you are missing out. In this gay, horror visual novel and dating sim your choices matter. Your aunt is dead and family drama tends to spill over at funerals. In the small town of Scarlet Hollow, mysteries will unfold one by one, with the deep storytelling we have come accustomed to from Black Tabby Games. In this episodic adventure, where your choices matter, there is also sapphic romance where the depth of each choice players make is felt in every detail. There are no jump scares and no impact on the broader story if you choose to romance or not. The art is hand drawn by award winning graphic novelist Abby Howard. Episode 5 will be released February 13th!

Clue: Murder by Death is a narrative driven detective adventure where your choices matter in order to arrive at the correct conclusion.

Love Eternal
February 19th – Steam, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox
Precision Platformer | Dark | Female Protagonist | Atmospheric
Love Eternal is a psychological horror platformer will keep you on your toes as you navigate bitter memories to escape a horrible fate. Maya after having a meal with her family is stolen from her family and must make her way through a series of platforms and puzzles filled with spikes, lasers and traps to escape the clutches of the horrible deity that took her. All of the art in the game is hand drawn and the platforming puzzles will challenge you to think outside of the box. The controls are responsive and satisfying and the environments are beautifully horrific.

Stickers, Please

You know those fun sticker books where you can decorate rooms, cafes but have a limited amount of stickers? In Stickers, Please that concept is now in a game except there are no limits on stickers, no placement constraints, time limits or rules. Create till your hearts’ content! And, if you are unhappy with your design, simply start again!
