Confetti’s Cozy Corner: Chloe is back in Life Is Strange: Reunion

I am SO excited that Chloe is back! This week Square Enix revealed Life Is Strange: Reunion, the next chapter in the Life Is Strange franchise. During this trailer we got a glimpse of Max’s next challenges and it was revealed that Chloe is back and is ready for action.

It has been 11 years since we got to see Max and Chloe together on an adventure to save the town, and I am excited for what this next one will bring.

Seeing Chloe and Max reunite after so long feels surreal. However, right after Chloe’s rockstar entrance, you can feel excitement but some tension between them. It seems that whatever was going on between Max and Chloe is still very much unresolved.

It seems like not much time has passed between Life is Strange: Double Exposure and Life Is Strange: Reunion. All the main characters generally look the same and still seem to be processing the events from the last game. Caledon University generally looks the same, except in flashes that Max experiences where most of the campus is on fire. Max is seen going about her normal day to day to more stressful moments where she is using and overusing her powers. Also, Sofi is back and it seems, as per usual, she has her own agenda.

Enter Chloe, coming out of her incredibly cool Jeep ready to have Max’s back no matter what. I am not sure how Chloe’s storyline will unfold if you initially chose the ‘Bay’ or ‘Bae’ ending back in Life is Strange, but it looks like we will have to circle back to the tough decision of sacrificing yet another town, so Chloe lives or choose to let Chloe go.

While that does seem like an inevitability, it is exciting to finally get to know more about Chloe and Max’s life beyond Arcadia Bay, and also get to the root of why they broke up. I personally enjoyed Life is Strange Double Exposure’s story, but it was sad romancing someone other than Chloe. I am glad we get to try again with them, although I wish it were under better circumstances.

During my playthrough of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, I had messy romances, mostly because I confused the timelines. I am VERY interested in how that will affect my future romance attempts now that Chloe is back, I will definitely be romancing her, as the world is ending… again. If Max’s powers aren’t the end of Caledon University, messy love hexagons will be.

Outside of messy romance, I do hope to see others with powers, maybe some folks from other Life is Strange games. Additionally, getting new powered characters and getting to see their unique abilities will make for a very interesting story.

If we finally get Max and Chloe back just to say goodbye again, it will be soul crushing. We will find out soon, when Life Is Strange: Reunion launches on March 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, and Microsoft Store on Windows.
