Confetti’s Cozy Corner: 2026 indie game releases I’m excited for
Happy New Year everyone! 2026 is finally here, and there are so many exciting titles on the horizon. While major Triple-A titles such as Resident Evil Requiem andGTA VI will take over our timelines upon their release, there are many indie titles you should definitely keep a lookout for.
Here are my most anticipated 2026 indie games!

Paralives
May 25th, Steam [PC] | Mac
It was a bit disappointing to hear the news of Paralives getting delayed to 2026. Paralives is an upcoming life sim where you build the home of your dreams! With a very detailed character, according to the Paralives YouTube channel, you can live out your dream life, manage other characters and the best part, be super queer! This life sim will have many diverse options which has been a pillar constantly highlighted during the game’s development process.

Thrifty Business

Own and run your own 90s era thrift shop, get to know your customers, and decorate it with nostalgic items such as clothes, antiques, and more inThrifty Business. Befriend the regulars, listen to their stories and become the best hangout spot in town. Spellgarden Games, who is also the developer of my favorite cozy game Sticky Business, are well known for their inclusivity, especially their queer representation!

The highly anticipated spellbinding witchy co-op life-sim is finally releasing in 2026. Play as the newest witch in town ready to start a new life. Set in the 1990s, you play as Makoto Hayakawa who is on break from college working at her aunt’s cozy convenience store. As you stock shelves, have meaningful conversations with customers, and meaningful conversations with customers and manage the store you will learn how your decisions to run the store affect the lives of those around you. inKONBINI is a cozy narrative driven game where you have choices that matter in dialogue, you’ll play mini games, and be relaxed by the lovely environment ASMR. The nostalgic vibes sounds will definitely transport you back to the 1990s.

Fishbowl
2026, Steam [PC] | PlayStation 5
Fishbowl has themes of grief, hope, and the freedom of dreams, as you play as Alo, who reflects on her childhood as she moves to a new city and grieves her grandmother’s death. In this rich narrative experience you will explore Alo’s memories, play mini games through slice-of-life elements. Alo, during the day, is a video editor, so players will not only experience her past but also perform daily tasks while trying to stay afloat from lingering grief and loneliness. This is a journey of self-discovery as you take one task at a time to make it through the day. Fishbowl releases in April 2026 for Steam and PlayStation 5.

Dosa Divas
2026, PC | PlayStation 5 | Xbox
From the developers of 2024 Gayming Magazine’s Authentic Representation Award Winner, Thirsty Suitors, comes another title, Dosa Divas. Outerloop Game’s Dosa Divas is a spicy and vibrant narrative turn-based RPG that is about love, family, boundaries and mending bonds over a good meal. I played a demo of Dosa Divas at the 2025 Summer Game Fest event and it instantly had me hooked. The gameplay consists of platforming, forging for ingredients, fishing, completing quests and cooking as you play as sisters Samara and Amani. This dynamic duo is on a journey with their sentient ancient mech on a mission to defeat a rotten fast food empire run by their other sister Lina. The characters have unique personalities that shine and compliment each other well.

Coffee Talk Tokyo
March 5th, PC [Steam]
Coffee Talk Tokyo by Toge Productions will bring the all familiar experience the warmth, connection, and interesting conversations, we know well from Toge; but in a new cafe located in Tokyo. Your clientele will consist of humans and yokai while serving warm drinks and getting to know everyone with twists and turns we’ve come to expect in the Coffee Talk franchise. Never-before-seen gameplay showed a vibrant cast of characters and wholesome interactions that definitely left audiences wanting more.
Now that is just a small taste of some indie titles releasing in 2026. I believe it will be another incredible year of gaming within the indie games space, and I am sitting with much anticipation for these titles and more!
What are some of the games you all are looking forward to?
