Confetti’s Cozy Corner: Lesbian characters for Lesbian Visibility Week
Happy Lesbian Visibility Week, let’s celebrate some of my favorite lesbian characters! Lesbian Visibility Week aims to bring awareness to the Lesbian community, their issues, joys, and existence.
This time last year, Gayming highlighted games that let you play as a lesbian. Today, I want to add to this list and highlight & uplift games that center/allow you to play as a lesbian.
Little Goody Two Shoes
Little Goody Two Shoes is a cozy, anime-inspired horror narrative adventure game that follows Elise, who was adopted after being found in the woods. When Elise’s adopted mother dies, she goes on an adventure to investigate rumors of a wish-granting creature. While on your adventure, your choices matter, and you can do odd jobs for villagers and romance characters while you work towards your goal. In this title, Elise only dates other women, so this is a lesbian only dating sim with a great story!
Fields of Mistria
Fields of Mistria is a cozy, magical farming sim with some anime inspirations. The story begins in the humble and peaceful town of Mistria, which is normally vibrant, cheerful, and bustling with townsfolk. However, Mistria recently suffered a bad earthquake that left the town in a dilapidated state, and naturally, this is where the protagonist comes in. In Fields of Mistria, not only can you date romanceable female characters, but you can also customize your character in lesbian gear. Fields of Mistria has many flags represented in their game, which makes visibility for many communities possible.
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is a gamified focus tool with a customizable cozy virtual space, soothing lofi soundtrack, and cute spirit pets. Many tools can be used in-game to help with real-world tasks, such as a timer, journal, creating task lists, and more. While there is no traditional gameplay, getting to customize your virtual space is fun and cozy. Many lesbian flag apparel and decor items can be used to customize your character and house. Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is a mostly passive, gamified focus tool, but I love the LGBTQIA+ representation throughout the entire game. The Kitchen Expansion for Spirit City: Lofi Sessions has recently been released, and you can also decorate the kitchen with beautiful lesbian flag ribbons and decor.
The Crush House
The Crush House is a chaotic dating sim that is set in a giant neon 90s aesthetic mansion in Malibu. This game is a mix of a chaotic reality show and a dating sim, to try to find love while the entire world watches live. The protagonist, Jae Jimenez Jung is hired onto the Crush House Production team to film the talent in the house, but mostly to cater to the wants of the audience and network. The audience drives the show, and the networks require you to play ads to bring in the money. Many lesbian relationships form in the Crush House, it’s just a matter of seeing who makes it to the end. Because there is a dark mystery brewing in the depths of the Crush House.
Thirsty Suitors
Thirsty Suitors is a story-driven game blending RPG combat, skateboarding, and cooking challenges. This “breakup simulator” focuses on confronting exes, dealing with family, and self-discovery, over dating. Think Scott Pilgrim, meets Bollywood, meets unapologetic queer vibes. The game is fully voice acted, the story is beautiful and battle mechanics are fun. The game is MESSY and will have you laughing in many moments and crying in the next. Thirsty Suitors tells a story of first loves, friendship, forgiveness, grief and self-discovery.
On Your Tail
On Your Tail, the charming mystery adventure cozy game by Memorable Games that centers on Diana Capoli, a college student who is very burnt out and lacks life experience. Diana not having the best work life balance and narrow world perspective reflects poorly in her work, and after receiving harsh feedback from her professor Diana decides to go on holiday and broaden her horizons! Diana ends of going to the beautiful coastal town of Borgo Marina, a place her late grandmother frequented. The beauty of Borog Marina is only rival to the dark mysteries it holds as Diana finds herself investigating a series of thefts. Diana has many women she can choose to romance in On Your Tail. All of the stories are adorable yet bitter sweet in the end.
