Overwatch 2 novel Heroes Ascendant is out now
Overwatch 2 is looking to add even more touching lore and story to the smash-hit video game, with the novel Heroes Ascendant out now in the US.
UK fans will have to wait a little longer, with Heroes Ascendant releasing next week on March 12.
A story from Overwatch 2, but told from multiple points of view, this novel features eight short stories from award-winning and best-selling authors from around the globe.
Each tale focuses on Null Sector’s global assault and how it brought the world to its knees—only for a handful of heroes to be there, ready to answer the world’s call for help.
Null Sector has been a real global pain in the butt for a while now, but now it’s begun to get serious, everyone in the world of Overwatch has been affected in a variety of ways.
For example, a tale from author E.C. Myers puts readers into the shoes of Hanzo as Null Sector pods rain down on Tokyo, whereas Mohale Mashigo conveys a fresh perspective to the relationship between Ana and Jack as they travel through Instanbul to meet an informant.
Other tales include Ashe and B.O.B’s pre-Crisis history from author Lyndsay Ely, and Symmetra’s travels abroad to retrieve a Vishkar asset (and an old friend) from Corinne Duyvis and Sangu Mandanna.
The anthology also includes illustrations from Kevin Hong, Hannah Templer, and more. More importantly, this anthology brings a brand new focus to the universe that makes up the hero-shooter.
Overwatch 2 has been in dire need of a continuing story, and it looks as though Heroes Ascendant is eager to answer that call.
