Queer Halloween Stories Bundle 2023 offers tricks and treats this year

Halloween is here, so why not celebrate it by helping fund queer artists and developers with the 2023 Queer Halloween Stories Bundle?

If there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that whenever Halloween comes around, it’s like the second coming of Pride for the LGBTQ+ community. We see ourselves in the weird, the wonderful, and the monstrous because that’s how we’ve been largely made to feel about ourselves throughout history. We relate to these stories, and reclaim them, shaping the horrors into something that feels welcoming, like returning home.

It’s this long history that has spurred Project Ensō, the original founders of the Queer Halloween Stories Bundle, to return in 2023.

“We are delighted to represent over 80 developers, artists, authors, and other creators of queer horror and Halloween-adjacent work!” Project Ensō states. “This is the bundle’s second year running, and we’re showcasing over 100 projects from around the globe.”

In this new bundle for 2023, fans will find the following:

  • 83 Digital Games (with 2 separate translated builds)
  • 22 Physical Games
  • 7 Books/Zines
  • 3 Comics
  • 3 Audio Dramas

It should be noted that 15 of these projects contain subject matters that are considered not-safe-for-work. So be aware that if you’re thinking of purchasing, you should be aged 18 years old or over.

The 2023 Queer Halloween Stories Bundle is a mutual aid bundle directly benefiting queer indie developers, authors, and artists, with all sales split evenly among participants who have opted in to receive funds for their work. The bundle will be available to purchase from October 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023.

There are two versions of the bundle, though each bundle contains the same amount of projects and no difference in content. There is the $60 Fright Edition and the $10+ Treat Edition. Again, both bundles are the same, however, it is encouraged that anyone interested in supporting queer game developers and creatives to purchase the $60 Fright Edition if they have the means to.

And remember: for the price of one AAA title, you can help fund the future of queer art by supporting these creators and discovering titles you won’t find anywhere else. Sounds like a good deal to us!

You can purchase the bundle over on itch.io.
