Gayming Awards 2024 Nominations are now open!

The Gayming Awards returns for its fourth year in 2024, and we’re looking to be bigger and better than ever.

Debuting at the Margaritaville Resort in Palm Springs on April 7, 2024, this year, the Gayming Awards are opening up more of our nominations and voting to the general public in our quest to seek out, highlight and celebrate LGBTQ+ games and names within the video game industry.

Last year the Gayming Awards 2023 saw Cult of the Lamb, Stray, Wylde Flowers, and more winning big, while Ashly Burch also took home the Gayming Icon Award as recognition for her contributions to the LGBTQ+ community through voicing so many LGBTQ+ characters like Horizon: Forbidden West’s Aloy and Life is Strange’s Chloe Price.

“I’m so thrilled that the impact and reach of the Gayming Awards continue to grow, and this move to Palm Springs shows that we want to keep carving out our space in the global games industry as we come to its spiritual home in California.” Robin Gray, founder of the Gayming Awards and Gayming Magazine, said. “I’m also delighted that the nomination and voting process is being expanded further to drive forward our mission of equity and inclusion by devolving power to the LGBTQ+ gaming public.”

Last year in 2023, more than 525,000 people in 90+ countries around the world watched the 2023 Awards, while 200 people were in-house at NYC’s iconic Industry Bar. Not only was it a night to remember, but it once more brought people together — no matter if they were sitting at home, or at the actual event itself. Can you say ‘legendary?’

What’s more, this hybrid approach will continue for The Gayming Awards 2024, with streaming being available on Twitch and TikTok. There will also be an increase in short video posts and cutdowns on Gayming’s growing TikTok account.

Furthermore, in a drive to increase the celebration of diversity and inclusion of the nominees for the Gayming Awards, we’re proud to reveal the launch of a Community Diversity Council headed by Raffy Regulus from NYC Gaymers. The council will sit alongside the Gayming Awards 2024 production team, with a mission to focus on equity and inclusion for nominees and attendees.

As for said nominations and nominees, the returning categories for the Gayming Awards 2024 are, as follows:

  • Game of the Year Award

  • Gayming Magazine Readers’ Award – sponsored by Devolver Digital

Even better is the news that gaming fans can nominate their favourite games and names across 10 categories right now. Nominations are now open at gaymingawards.com and close on November 24, 2023.

The Gayming Awards also welcomes back sponsor Devolver Digital, alongside new supporters Humble Games, Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs and Visit Greater
Palm Springs, while Out Making Games, Qweerty Gamers, and NYC Gaymers continue their support.

“I cannot wait to show you what we’ve been cooking up for the 2024 Awards, we’re constantly learning and reflecting, while still striving to be the best celebration of LGBTQ+ achievement in games and in the industry,” concluded Robin Gray.
