Relic Hunters Legend Closed Beta to open this July

If you’re in the mood for a new looter-shooter, then the closed beta Relic Hunters Legend from Gearbox Publishing and Brazil-based developer Rogue Snail might be just the thing for you.

Players are thrust into an adventure following the Relic Hunters as they work against a villainous duck, Duke Ducan, who has somehow managed to steal the past. With such power in his pocket, Ducan has made it seem as though he is responsible for everything good happening in the world, making it so the populace never questions his reign and the oppressive galactic regime.

That is, until the Relic Hunters decide enough is enough. The crew features Pinkyy, the leader, as well as Jimmy, Ace, Raff, Biu, and Jimmy’s little sister Panzer. Along the way, they come across a new ally called Seven, though little is known about them and their reason for wanting to help the crew.

With the game still in development, Rogue Snail and Gearbox Publishing are inviting players to jump into a limited-time Closed Beta for Relic Hunters Legend for PC, available via Steam. No matter where you’re located, players interested in the looter-shooter Action RPG can sign up for access and be among the first to see what the game has on offer when the beta starts on July 20 at 9:00 AM CST and ends on July 24, also at 9:00 AM CST. With the beta, players are given the chance to play for free across both co-op and single-player missions and give feedback that can be shared with the development team.

Queer gamers are also in for a treat, as it has been confirmed that there will be trans and non-binary representation involved within the game’s cast. Not only will the Relic Hunters crew offer a dynamic, unique cast with their own abilities, playstyles, and personalities — but you’ll see queer identities represented too. A major win.

Other features to expect from Relic Hunters Legend are replayable missions, all of which will offer powerful loot for you to collect as well as difficult enemies for you to test your mettle against. With the wide range of weapons, gear, and skills to unlock, no one mission or playthrough will be the same, making Relic Hunters Legend a fun game to learn, but challenging to master.

“Our team here in Brazil has put a lot of care into Relic Hunters Legend‘s world, characters and gameplay to make sure that everyone feels welcome and can find something to love – whether they play solo, in a group, or if they want to meet new friends in-game!” said Mark Venturelli, Rogue Snail CEO and creative director. “We can’t wait to see everyone joining this fun little world we’ve created, and we’re looking forward to responding to all of the feedback and making the game the best it can be for release day.”

“We are thrilled to have the privilege of being chosen as partners by Rogue Snail and help them bring Relic Hunters Legend to players all over the world,” said Steve Gibson, President of Gearbox Publishing. “It is a joy to bring players together through their gameplay, characters, and storytelling, and we couldn’t be prouder to work with Rogue Snail to help bring this game’s heartwarming universe to life. We know a thing or two about looter-shooters at Gearbox, and we think players will like this one a lot.”
