Dead by Daylight to collab with Supermassive Games
To celebrate the game’s eighth anniversary, Behavior Interactive announced that it will collaborate with Supermassive Games — the developers behind horror titles like Until Dawn, The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology — for an upcoming Dead by Daylight standalone narrative game.
Currently, the only information we have about this standalone game is that it will be “an intense narrative experience filled with powerful life-or-death choices set within the backdrop of Dead by Daylight.” According to the announcement, more information about this game will be revealed at some point later this year.
In addition to the announcement of this more narrative-driven game, Behaviour Interactive also detailed other projects within the Dead By Daylight universe that are in the pipeline. One of these is another standalone video game with Midwinter Entertainment, which will focus on player-vs-environment mechanics with teams of four players taking on a different section of The Entity’s realm. According to Behaviour Interactive, this game will “tackle themes of greed and lust for power.”
Another project Behaviour discussed in its announcement was the feature film adaptation of Dead by Daylight, which was previously announced back in March of this year. The developers have joined forces with Atomic Heart and Blumhouse to produce the film, and they are currently looking for a director and screenwriter. The final announcement pertained to the official Dead By Daylight comic book, which is being published in collaboration with Titan Comics. Its first issue will release physically and digitally in early June.
Further details about all of these projects are supposed to come out later this year, so Dead by Daylight fans will need to keep their eyes out for future news about the collaboration with Supermassive Games and other spin-off projects. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the news that Nicolas Cage is also joining the DBD universe — though as a Survivor or Killer, we don’t know yet.
