The Mini Indie Showcase 2023 kicks off March 22

On Wednesday, indie games media outlet Six One Indie announced that the 2023 edition its annual Mini Indie Showcase will premiere on March 22 at 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST. The showcase has a 46 minute runtime and will include 33 indie games.

Six One Indie is “an independently operated games organization dedicated to amplifying indie creators of all shapes and sizes.”

“Our team aims to spotlight voices that inspire, surprise, and radiate joy through their storytelling, gameplay, and overall vision. Similar to the games and developers we highlight, we’re a scrappy DIY crew with big hearts and even bigger ambitions.”

The Mini Indie Showcase is meant to serve as an unofficial kickoff event for PAX East, which starts later that week. It is a pre-shot video showcase that was filmed in the BrookLAN Gaming Lounge – a gaming lounge and arena in Brooklyn, New York that offers events and space for both competitive and casual gamers. The video showcase will play on both the Six One Indie website and the outlet’s YouTube channel.

This will be the second annual MIS; the 2022 edition featured 18 indie titles, including Team Lazerbeam’s pro wrestling dating sim, Wrestling with Feelings. MIS 2023 has expanded the roster of games significantly. In total, 33 games will appear in this year’s Mini Indie Showcase; 30 of these are upcoming titles, while 3 will be released on or by March 22. The event is completely co-stream friendly, and Six One Indie stated it encourages all content creators and media to react to the showcase live with their audiences.

After the showcase wraps up, Six One Indie will be hosting additional bonus content on its channel. This will include an official post-show featuring hands-on impressions of some of the games in this year’s line up, as well as eight exclusive developer interviews.
