All the LGBTQIA+ games nominated in the 2023 BAFTA Games Awards
On Thursday, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced the nominees for its 2023 Games Awards. There are several awards categories and multiple games with LGBTQ+ characters and/or themes were nominated.
“Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees! 🎉,” BAFTA Games tweeted. “Discover the full list below and don’t forget to tune in live on Twitch on 30 March to find out the winners 👊 #BAFTAGamesAwards.”
The BAFTA Games Awards are “celebrating the very best games of 2022 and the talent who made them.” The awards ceremony where the winners will be announced will take place on Thursday, March 30.
To be eligible for this year’s awards, games had to be released between January 1, 2022 and December 8, 2022 within the United Kingdom. No games that have previously been entered for nominations for these awards can be entered again, except if they fall within the Evolving Game category. Those submitting games for consideration must pay £100 + VAT (£120) for their first entry, plus regular fees for each additional entry.
