UMISHO qualifies for ARC World Tour Finals

The final bracket for the ARC World Tour Finals 2022 has been announced, and transgender reigning Guilty Gear Strive champion UMISHO will be participating. The ARC World Tour Finals will gather qualifying pros from around the world to compete and will take place in Burbank, California on March 11.

The ARC World Tour Finals 2022 tournament is all about determining who the best Guilty Gear Strive and DNF Duel players in the world are. The winners of several different qualifying tournaments around the world were invited to participate in the main event, which will take place on Saturday, March 11 at the Esports Engine Burbank Studio in Burbank, California, starting at 12:00 a.m. PST. Participants will compete to win bragging rights, a trophy, and the lion’s share of the $200,000 prize pool.

UMISHO made waves in the fighting game community in a big way during EVO 2022 last August when they took the Guilty Gear Strive title. UMISHO shared celebrations of their win with another trans FGC icon, SonicFox, who won the Skullgirls competition at this event. She is a relatively new player, having only started competing in 2022, but she has already had a big impact. Before the big EVO win, UMISHO had placed well in a few other tournaments, taking second at the Vortex III tournament, first at the CLG Run It Thursdays #2 – East Coast tournament, and third at Heat Wave 2022.

UMISHO will face TempestNYC in their first match of the ARC World Tour 2022 bracket. TempestNYC plays, competes, and coaches in a variety of fighting games, including Melty Blood: Type Lumina, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, DNF Duel, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and, of course, Guilty Gear Strive. We will have to wait until March 11 to see how they stack up against the reigning champ UMISHO. Whoever loses will have one more chance, however, as this is a double elimination bracket.
