Gothic horror visual novel TOUCHSTARVED announces Kickstarter campaign

On Monday, Red Spring Studio announced that it will be launching a Kickstarter campaign this coming spring to fund the development of its queer, gothic horror visual novel TOUCHSTARVED. The studio first announced the game on Halloween with a logo reveal of silhouettes of its five love interests.

In TOUCHSTARVED the player is a person who was born cursed; the minds of anyone they touch become twisted and corrupted. They set out to seek a cure, and in their desperation they reach the shadowy city of Eridia where they become entangled with five monstrous strangers. Each can provide the protagonist with a form of salvation, but they can also lead them down the path of damnation.

The game is narrative heavy and choice-based, with players choosing their protagonist’s pronouns and origin story before guiding them through the twists and turns of this gothic horror story. Your choices will determine how the story ultimately plays out, whether it’s in bloodshed and horror, or gothic romance. It’s up to you to figure out which road will lead you to saving yourself and those you love, or you may end up losing your humanity along the way to finding your cure.

Red Spring Studios is a small, POC and queer-owned indie studio that includes veteran members of the game development industry from studios like Nix Hydra, Bungie and Riot Games. Fans of romance visual novels may be familiar with some of these folks’ work on Nix Hydra titles The Arcana and Last Legacy.
