Returning for its third year, the Gayming Awards will make its Broadway debut on March 7, 2023, presented by Logitech For Creators and Streamlabs. Nominations are now open for nine of the 12 categories and will close on November 11th.
Logitech For Creators is a brand extension of Logitech that is dedicated to empowering all creators to pursue their passions by unlocking their extraordinary potential and ability to shape culture. Streamlabs brings everything you need to live stream and record into one conveniently packed SaaS solution. Founded on the belief that we want to help creators make a living doing what they love, Streamlabs provides a robust suite of features to help creators grow their audience, increase engagement with viewers, and improve monetization.
This year, more of the nominations will be opened to the public in a continued quest to find and support diversity in games.
“Our partnership with the Gayming Awards is perfectly aligned with Logitech For Creators’ mission to drive change for a more diverse and inclusive future,” said Joel Ramos, Creator Engagement Lead at Logitech For Creators. “Representation matters — and we want to make sure everyone has a chance not only to be seen but to be celebrated.”
The 2022 Awards saw “Life Is Strange: True Colors” take home three awards while “Unpacking” and “Resident Evil: Village” each took home an award.
“I cannot believe the Gayming Awards are making its debut on Broadway! It’s year three of our Awards, and I’m so proud of all we have achieved in recognizing queer video game excellence to date,” says Robin Gray, founder of Gayming Magazine, the world’s first LGBTQ+ online gaming publication and the force behind the Awards.
More than 320,000 people in 97 countries around the world watched the 2022 Awards while 400 people were in-house at London’s Troxy Theatre. The 2023 Awards will continue the hybrid approach by streaming on Twitch and IGN, plus an edited version of the show will air on a popular TV channel after the event.
In the lead-up to the big event, gaming fans can nominate – and then vote on – their favorite games across 12 categories. Nominations are now open at gaymingawards.com and close on November 11, 2022.
“Events like the Gayming Awards are essential in building an inclusive gaming ecosystem where everyone can feel welcome and represented”, said Ashray Urs, Head of Product at Streamlabs. “Streamlabs is honored to support The Gayming Awards and celebrate LGBTQ+ gamers and creators. We look forward to working with the Gayming Awards team to create a more inclusive gaming industry for all.”
