Rocket League celebrates Pride with special Shine Through bundle

Rocket League kicked off its Pride Month celebrations on Wednesday by adding the free, limited-time Shine Through Bundle to the in-game store. The bundle features player anthems from four drag artists/singers: Trixie Mattel, Adore Delano, Todrick Hall, and Conchita Wurst. It also has other cosmetic items for players to check out and deck out their cars in full Pride regalia.

This is a continuation of Rocket League’s efforts to support the LGBTQ community and celebrate Pride. Last year’s player anthems featured music from queer music icons Hayley Kiyoko, Troye Sivan, Big Freedia, Kim Petras, King Princess, and Lil Nas X. This year’s musicians are more directly focused on the drag performance scene.

Trixie Mattel and Adore Delano are drag performers who appeared on past seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and have since risen to fame with their own music and shows. Todrick Hall got his start on American Idol (not unlike Delano) and has also served as a guest judge on the drag-based reality show. Conchita Wurst, meanwhile, is probably best remembered for her 2014 Eurovision win with a full beard.

“As a big gamer myself, I was gagged when I found out ‘Hello Hello’ was going to be in Rocket League. Be gay, play video games and listen to my music all PRIDE month!” said Trixie Mattel

Rocket League players can grab the Shine Through bundle via the in-game store at no cost from June 15-July 12. The bundle includes the following in-game items:

The songs will also be available to listen to on Rocket League Radio on a playlist called “Shine Through.”
