Fall Guys comes to all platforms in June

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic announced Monday that the game will be coming to all platforms – including the Xbox ecosystem, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games store – for free on June 21, along with some other new features that are coming soon. Up until this point, Fall Guys has been a paid game, but that will change going forward as Mediatonic moves it towards a free-to-play model.

With the new structure comes a refresh of sorts. After the multi-platform launch on June 21, Fall Guys will essentially start over to accommodate the expected influx of players from new consoles, starting everyone off in a new Season 1. Players will “step into a giant arena to compete in the Free For All” during this initial season. New costumes, levels, and more will also be featured.

All versions of Fall Guys will support both cross-play and cross-progression thanks to Epic’s online services. The Xbox and Switch versions of the game were originally supposed to debut in 2021, but were delayed to 2022. Now the company has revealed that these versions will be ready for this summer.

Players who already have Fall Guys via PlayStation or Steam will continue receiving updates – like new seasons and features – as usual. However, new players won’t be able to purchase the game on Steam anymore. Those who want to play on PC going forward will have to download it via the Epic Games store. Additionally, a PS5 specific version of the game will launch alongside the new console versions, so players there can enjoy Fall Guys with faster load times and other performance upgrades.

OG fans who picked Fall Guys up before the June 21 launch of the free-to-play version will also receive a Legacy Pack, which includes a nickname, a nameplate, the Veggie Dog costume, the Regal costume, the Feisty Dwarf costume, and a Season Pass for the first season of the new free-to-play version.
