CD Projekt Red unveils new The Witcher saga
CD Projekt Red has officially unveiled that there will be a brand new The Witcher saga in the future.
The reveal comes via the developer’s social media pages, such as Twitter, as well as their official website. Alongside the reveal was an image of a Witcher medallion covered in snow, though unlike the Wolf medallion we’ve all come to know due to our many adventures with Geralt of Rivia, this medallion seems very…cat-like.
You can see the Twitter announcement below, where it has already surpassed over 12,000 likes.
Currently, the studio has not revealed what the game is about, or who we’ll be following as the protagonist – but has shared the following information:
“This is an exciting moment as we’re moving from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5, beginning a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. It covers not only licensing, but technical development of Unreal Engine 5, as well as potential future versions of Unreal Engine, where relevant. We’ll closely collaborate with Epic Games’ developers with the primary goal being to help tailor the engine for open-world experiences.
At this point, no further details regarding the game — such as a development time frame or release date — are available.”
This brings up a lot of questions about exclusivity of the next The Witcher game. Will it only be exclusive to Epic Games, or does this mean something else entirely? Either way, expect a new The Witcher saga in the future – one that apparently will not follow the adventures of Geralt of Rivia.
