Unleash your inner vampire in First Bite
In a world where vampires and werewolves are still considered super hot, you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear more about First Bite – a visual novel vampire game that’s both a romance and a dark comedy. Think a combination of Addams Family and Vampire Diaries, maybe?
Players will take on the role of the character Noe (whose name and pronouns you can change to suit you), a human who is endlessly fascinated by all things supernatural, but finds that their curiosity leads them to the open arms of three centuries-old vampires. Three very hungry centuries-old vampires.
The only problem is that once Noe goes into the house, it looks like there’s no way to get back out.
But who are these delectable hosts? The vampires are called Ilyas (he/him), Laurel (he/they) and Valeria (she/they). Illyas is voiced by Alejandro Saab (Fire Emblem: Three Houses), Laurel by Jalen Cassell (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), and Valeria by Marie Westbrook (Jujutsu Kaisen).
All three vampires have lived together for centuries, so it goes without saying that they share a unique, deep bond that the player will need to keep in mind with their interactions with each vampire.
As the player, you’ll have to navigate a series of conversations with the three, which can either lead to a dead end – as in you’re very, very dead! – or you’ll be granted the greatest gift of all: eternal life.
Now this a romantic visual novel too, and with vampires you can expect First Bite to be extremely thirsty… That is, if you didn’t notice that there’s an 18+ age rating for the game, already. Regardless of what sexy hijinks you can get up to, you’re going to have to try and say the right thing otherwise the fangs you find at your throat won’t necessarily be all that sensual. Far from it, actually.
But don’t fret, if romance isn’t your thing then there’s an option available for you that will just let you start up a friendship with Illyas, Lauren, and Valeria. Because who doesn’t love some friends? Albeit, some very cursed friends.
But what’s really got us excited is the team behind First Bite. With developers from Arcade Spirits, Lunaris Games, Truant Pixel, and Split Fate Studios, there’s certainly a lot to love.
