The Gayming Awards 2022 nominations are now open!
What time is it? Why, it’s get dressed, brush your teeth and head on over to the Gayming Awards 2022 page to put down all of the video game nominations you feel deserves an award like no other.
Last year was the very first Gayming Awards, a global award ceremony celebrating LGBTQ+ video games and the people behind them. It was a resounding success, highlighting both indies and triple-A games that went the distance to include queer narratives and characters that matter to their LGBTQ+ audience.
This year we return, with the same categories as before, as well as a few new ones! The returning categories are:
- Game of the Year – sponsored by PlayStation
- Gayming Magazine Readers Award – sponsored by EA
- Gayming Icon Award – sponsored by Facebook Gaming
- Industry Diversity Award – sponsored by Hangar 13 & 2K Games
- Authentic Representation Award – sponsored by Marvelous Europe
- Best LGBTQ Character Award – sponsored by Rocksteady
- Best LGBTQ Indie Game Award – sponsored by Xbox
- LGBTQ Streamer of the Year Award – sponsored by Twitch
These categories were well-received during our first Gayming Awards ceremony, but to be on level with our new vision for Gayming Magazine we’ve added some new categories that look at the more LGBTQ+ inclusive side of entertainment as a whole. These new categories are:
- LGBTQ Streamer Rising Star Award – Sponsored by Twitch
- Best LGBTQ Comic Book Moment – Sponsored by Square Enix
- LGBTQ Tabletop Game Award
- Best LGBTQ Contribution to Esports
What an exciting time to be LGBTQ+ in the gaming space! Even so, the Gayming Awards 2022 wouldn’t be the award ceremony it is today without our sponsors such as Devolver Digital, who will be helping us welcome all our guests on the red carpet.
