Destiny 2 supports Trans Lifeline by donating profits from Pride pin
In an effort to support the trans community, it was announced in a community message on Destiny 2 that the profits of Bungie’s released Pride Pin would be donated to charity Trans Lifeline.
Trans Lifeline is a charity that provides support for trans individuals by giving them a community they can rely on. They are run by trans people for trans people.
The Pride Pin is available to purchase for $15. As for the emblem, that will be available in-game for Destiny 2 players who won’t need to grab the pin in order to get the emblem.
dmg04, the Senior Community Manager of Destiny 2, shared the in-game message that players could expect to see when they log in. The message is titled Raising Transgender Awareness.
“During November, Bungie is standing with the transgender and gender-nonconforming community to raise awareness and work to end anti-trans violence,” the message reads. “All profits of the Bungie Store’s Pride pin will benefit Trans Lifeline to provide support.”
Transgender Awareness Week starts on the 13th of November and lasts until the 19th, with Transgender Day of Remembrance right after.
As always, it’s paramount that we support our trans brothers and sisters, and it’s great that Bungie is taking that step to help raise awareness and support the trans folks in their community.
