How long does it take to beat Life is Strange: True Colors?
Life is Strange: True Colors is finally here, but one of the most asked questions about it isn’t why Steph Gingrich is the best character (answer: she just is) in the new game, but how long it’ll take to beat the game in the first place.
I mean, I get it, there’s not enough time in the day to do what you want, but trust me when we say that you’ll want to spend as much time with this game as possible. Of course, that doesn’t quite answer your question, now does it?
Well, fret not. Depending on what side of the fence you’re sitting on, you’ll be pleased (or dismayed) to know that 9 to 10 hours is how long it’ll take to beat Life is Strange: True Colors. We say 9 to 10 because we’ve had feedback from readers and friends alike that have complete the game at around that time, though if you just speedrun it and ignore side quests – which we don’t advise if you’re after the best ending – you can get the game beat at a much shorter time of 7 to 8 hours.
With how long it takes to beat this game, fans of the previous entries within the series will note that Life is Strange: True Colors is a little shorter than the original. But quantity doesn’t always mean quality, and as you can see from our glowing review of the game, that doesn’t stop Alex Chen’s journey from being a masterpiece.
How long to beat Life is Strange: True Colors as a completionist?
While there isn’t anything stopping you from just being happy with beating the game, there’s something to be said about getting all the collectibles, isn’t there?
Thankfully, even if you’re just one of those people that need to do everything, it won’t take up too much of your time as memories (this game’s collectibles) are easy to spot by exploring everything and using your power at the same time. They’ll make a faint noise and will glow a certain colour, leading you over towards them.
Even if you don’t get all of the memories on your first playthrough, then don’t sweat it. You don’t need to go through a whole other playthrough to make up for it. Instead, the game lets you play individual chapters and scenes where the memories are and you can pick them up through that. This doesn’t affect the rest of your game.
9 to 10 hours is – mostly – enough for the story. Love the article!
