Vampire: The Masquerade is getting its own battle royale

Vampire: The Masquerade is getting its very own battle royale, developed by Swedish studio Sharkmob.

Owned by Tencent, Sharkmob first came to be in 2017 and has recently opened a studio in London. The background of most of the employees in Sharkmob is ex-Ubisoft developers, having worked on games such as Hitman and Assassin’s Creed. So, to say that Sharkmob knows what their doing? Perhaps an understatement.

Still, Vampire: The Masquerade and battle royale? An odd mix to be sure, but one that has us wondering what this game could bring to the vast, enticing setting of The World of Darkness.

Not much is known about the game itself, though on Sharkmob’s official website you can see the following description:

“Experience the next thrilling evolution of Battle Royale multiplayer action games set in the cult classic Vampire: The Masquerade universe where vampire sects are at war across the streets and rooftops of Prague.

Choose your playstyle, go solo or together, battling rivals and the hostile Entity who’s hellbent on exterminating all vampires. Use your supernatural powers, weapons and blood to become stronger in order to hunt, fight and survive the night.

The game is scheduled for release in the later half of 2021.”

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was set to come out this year, but has been delayed to 2021. We don’t know when in 2021, so the possibility of these two games coming out near enough the same time is something that fans should consider. Either way, if you’re waiting for some vampire goodness, 2021 seems to be the year for that!
